The participants of the Conference will have the privilege to follow a guided visit to the InteSusAl one-hectare pilot plant and the company SPAROS.
Don’t miss this chance! A bus will pick participants up at the hotel and bring them back after the visits.
InteSusAl one-hectare pilot plant
Since 2011, the Integrated Sustainable Algae (InteSusAl) project has been working on the demonstration of an innovative approach to generate biofuels from microalgae by optimising the production of algae by both heterotrophic and phototrophic routes. The unit became fully operative in 2015.
The overall objective of InteSusAl (Demonstration of integrated and sustainable microalgae cultivation with biodiesel validation) is to demonstrate an integrated approach to generate biofuels from algae in a sustainable manner on an industrial scale. More precisely, the project will optimise the production of algae by both heterotrophic and phototrophic routes and will demonstrate integration of these production technologies (Raceway, PhotoBioReactor and Fermentation) to achieve the algae cultivation targets of 90-120 dry tonnes per hectare by annum.
